I should be finishing up the post concerning Coffee and Spices but that just doesn’t seem to be in the cards. It will be up, but in the mean time here is something else. We told you about the best commercial i have ever seen for a video game, here is the worst i have ever seen for anything. The person who made this junk should be taken out back and shot, In the mouth, as an example to others. serious that last line was only for effect. To say it lightly I dislike the following video.

One more bit of minutia. What is it with geeks and toasters?

Most of the media is all about catering to a guy’s use of Tech, whereas women are a huge untapped market for shiny things unrelated to jewelry. Most of the women i know feel more than a little alienated by the marketing pushes for Tech, not that they don’t like geeky things, some more than other but rather that they don’t feel inspired to purchase these things. I myself have found myself on more than one occasion to have to rephrase what a particular game, gadget or shiny object is used for so that my wife will feel the need for it. This is also know as begging to the uninitiated. Engadget finally has a good grasp, at least from my perspective, on what makes a woman want tech. Great Idea people!
Some of their ideas, and explanation may seem a little off but if you look closely you see the essence of what women seem to look for in tech. Well designed, compact, and well thought out tech. I don’t mean this post to seem condescending towards women. Rather I think that they are much more discerning customers, who know what they want and how it should look. Take a peek at the mens section, the only cohesive thing you could say about this stuff is that its all geeky? No cohesive thought. What a shame guys.

Coming off a story in which Microsoft was being sued for including an indigenous language as an available option in Windows Vista, you would think it couldn’t get any worse. Well according to Wired there is a major problem when it comes to Microsofts new Zune player and free to share content, Such as works licensed under Creative commons, or Even perish the thought podcasts. Microsoft has built into Zune a three day three play share mechanism. Music labels are fine with this limited shareing, but the problem comes to music which is supposed to be shared. Audio content such as podcasts cannot be bought, are not supported by Zune’s software right out of the box. More on that in a minute. But Specifically creative commons is against restricting the flow of the music, as long as you don’t profit you can share unedited content.
On one hand i honestly feel sorry for Microsoft at every turn no matter what their original intent was they seem to fall. Which begs the question would apple have this problem if they enabled a similar feature on the ipod? I honestly don’t think so.
By the By, I want to go on record again as stating that i think the entire reason Microsft didn’t incorporate podcasting support into the Zune right off the back was that it was afraid of getting sued by Apple. Apple probably already has the documents written just waiting to be stamped and dated for when Microsoft “infringes on their intellectual property” of the iPod brand. Apple has attempted on numerous occasions to bring podcast into the fold of trademarked words. podcasting or Portable on Demand Broadcasting does not need an ipod to function. As soon as Apple looses enough court cases regarding podcasting and thus clarifies the use of the word pod in the corperate world, then look for Microsoft to introduce podcasting. Zen jukeboxes skipped the whole problem by labeling them zencasts. Interesting idea, zune cast? probably won’t fly.

Ok so please for all intensive purposes ignore this post. I’m trying to get the word out about the CaffiNation Podcast, going through all of the old links that i had to the old site and trying to point them in the right direction. Its been a pain so far. So here the Odeo Claim Link

Well here we go Technorati tags a a way that people can find things that interest them on scores of different blogs. people place these little doo dads at the bottom of their posts to let you know what the post is about. So that way if i was Talking about Michael Richards and the nasty things he said and did a couple days ago then you would see that in the tags. But it isn’t and I’m not. So there you go.
I am always tempted to put something completely not related to my post in there. No one is really going to stop me. I could tag this as aardvark, but thats just silly because who would believe that, espiecially coming from an animal whose name begins with a repeating vowel. I’ve heard the owl now wishes to be know as the oowl. Would that fly? i think not.
