Can you imagine a world where people had to use their hands to open a bottle of wine? Can you picture this barbaric place where it took more than a couple of seconds to make sweet vino flow? I can’t possibly imagine such a place, but if you live there then the Bosch IXO Vino might be for you. It is the only cordless drill approved method of uncorking a good time. Get ready to volitize some aromatic esters, and throw down with some fancy folks. Pinkies out, and trigger fingers down everyone.
So we’ll see how long tonight’s show ends up being
I get sick every spring. this time it just took a bit longer to get here, and quite honestly I don’t know where it came from. I’m loosing my voice and if there is one thing I like it’s talking! So I’ll attempt to do the show solo tonight, Batman Returns. Because when I hear my own voice inside my head I sound like Batman when I’m loosing my voice, it probably isn’t true for the rest of you listening, but hey let a man dream.

Matt Richards, a writer for Make Magazine, had a problem. His favorite word to use was “awesome.” He would put it in everything he wrote. He realized this and wanted to expand his vocabulary, but he wanted to have fun with it as well. So, he decided to make a button to help.
Matt hacked an “Easy Button” that you get from Staples into giving him synonyms for “awesome.” In this video, he shows you step by step, and explains what he did to make this brilliant idea work. I was so intrigued that now I want to go out and try it myself.
After I saw what Matt did, it got me thinking, maybe I could hack into the old Nintendo controller and turn it into something as awesome as The Easy Button.
How does a horror / terror writer make a superhero, who has struggled with his self image, cool? Well Aqua-man is lord of all Denizens of the deep right…
There just happens to be a special place in the world for out of this world horrors, called R’lyeh. You know the orange tights, not so much of a problem now.
I loved the simplicity of cart based gaming consoles. No scratched CD’s to worry about. Did it really matter if your kid wandered off with the game? Did parents even play games back then?
A modder from over at Instructables has taken his love of nostalgia one step further and dropped a Chinese Knock Off NES on a Chip (NOAC) into a Vintage Mario Brothers Cart. A couple of connectors and some mighty fine soldering later you have a NES in an NES Cart. Now that is recursion done right!
You know some stories write themselves. This is a giant slingshot that shoots a machete, there is no subterfuge in the name. Watch the video it IS as dangerous as it sounds. Experts only, Some Darwin awards are merely held in reserve. This is crazy. Crazy like a Zombie Eating FOX! How would you like to bring one of these puppies to bear in the event of a zombie apocalypse. The good thing is it looks like with a little modification you could use this for any bladed weapon…
Have you seen Beerfest? I love that movie, and one of the most iconic pieces of hardware contained in that hilarious Yeasty Comedy was DAS BOOT, a beer drinking apparatus of legendary proportions. While Das Boot had been around for a while as a novelty item this movie made it legendary.
So in the realm of truly epic pieces of film I present for your viewing insanity Das Beer Boot, from Vat19.com, The store itself is a collection of oddities and bit of awesome. I can’t remember the last time advertising actually made me visit a store they were directing me towards. Hilarious… Epic… and disturbing
I mean… come on they have the Screwnicorn! And they do all their own stunts. I have a new favorite store.
One of the biggest buzzwords lately is Green Tech. But the problem with generating power is that quite frankly its a bit hard to do. Solar energy is by far the most talked about alternative energy source but Solar energy is operating at around 20 % efficiency. That means for every 10 units of energy collected by the panel you get 2 usable portions out.
Wind energy is a lot more efficient, the only problem being that its much harder to find a sustainable wind source than a sunny day. Portable wind generators, provided they don’t need a ton of sustained wind would be a huge boon to emerging societies, relief work in remote locations or just being awesome all by your lonesome and blogging on a mountaintop.
While just a concept piece the Eolic looks like it might have a horse in that race. Carbon Fibre and a small footprint could make this an interesting design to watch, and it looks just plain awesome, lets admit it.
