I’m always looking for something to spice up the show, like a fine curry one show is never quite like the next. But after 6 years its hard to see the differences some times. I’d love for people to email in and share what they like and don’t about the show. Where should we be spending our time? What do you want to hear more about? Less About? it’s your show we just host it.
CES is happening, and I’m not there. So pay attention to people who are. Like Norbert! He and the fine folks with TPN, have all the goodies.
Tonight’s show is full of puns, a ton of in jokes and a great vibe throughout. We hit on everything from Mario to Makerbots, we touch on Star wars, Coffee, and of course lots of off beat news and happenings
You heard correctly. This is a robot shaped like a beer can. usually when inaimate objects start doing things, you know like walking around… I would suggest you stop drinking. Think about the implications 1 Can bot in a case could singlhandedly stop a whole frat party if its quick enough.
Yo Bro! Catch that Beer! This is a spiffy little project from Ron Tajima, Man i love me some wiimote hacking.
16th Century Monks living in Germany had a couple crazy ideas. one of which being their idea of a good fast for Lent was abstaining from solid food and drinking nothing but beer for 46 days…
I’ll let that sink in. Nothing but beer and water for 46 days. Enter a more modern man J Wilson, who decided to give the test a go. So he did his research as not just any old Coors, Bud Light or Guinness would do. The monks brewed a special beer just for this occasion a Dark and Unfiltered Dopplebock. Reason being the beer was loaded with vitamins and hearty enough to help sustain him.
How did he do? Well he made the full 46 days, lost 25 pounds, which considering he started out underweight probably was not a good thing. But the story is an interesting one. While at first you read Beer Diet you think… Hey i could do that. And then you go on to read how pretty much all health professionals involved tried to convince Wilson to do otherwise, and the wasn’t loosing fat here people, he didn’t have that much to begin with. No he was loosing muscle mass his body was consuming itself to survive… Kind of scary. So I’ll stick with my occasional good brew. Tonight’s show is a fun mix of Content collect this past week. I actually like doing the show a bit more this way. I gotta say i felt a bit stagnant in how things were going it’s nice to bring in some fresh content and a new person to share with writing. Steve has been great. I hope you’re enjoying his articles. We cover ground from Pop culture interpretations of Video game Art (Angry Birdsky / a la warhol) to Modern looks at the early days of Exploration. history comes alive in color pictures from Shakelton’s 1915 assault on the south pole, Alas no scotch in that story.
We are also working on some fun new stories for the coming days, more reviews, more zombies, more sketching more Lord of the rings. Don’t just stay for the show, but bookmark us and ass us to your reader for later too!
We’re constantly looking for awesome and fun content so make sure to contact us if you find a story or would like to contribute!
Been a long time coming, but episode 473 is here, well at least if you’re reading this then you are probably listening as well. The past two weeks have been big for the site, hopefully you’ve been checking back to the site to see some of the crazy stories and content we are throwing down. Tonight’s show is going to be a rundown a collection of the awesome, a highlight reel of the fun things we have covered over the past two weeks with the usual commentary, and a few extra’s thrown in.
Kitchen sink probably would have been a good name for this show because there has been so much new stuff showing up on the site I haven’t been able to keep track of everything. If you love the podcast do yourself a favor and click on the podcast only feed for use in itunes, zune or what ever podcatcher you use, and the Podcast only homepage is accessible from the garish colored button on the top right hand side of the homepage.
Going forward we’re going to try to keep up this torrid pace of finding and publishing content, and the podcast is going to rewind some of the fan favorites from the past week, we will still be covering off kilter topics and Steve will be publishing Video Game reviews and commentary as well. I’m hoping you are enjoying the direction that the site is heading. So this show is running at about 90% of the links being back to our own stories, which is awesome.
Steve brought a great energy to the show and I can’t wait to have him back. Let me know what you thought of tonight’s episode!
Tonight’s show we talk about Star Wars, again! propaganda again! and steampunk AGAIN! The topics are staying the same but the content just keeps flowing. The good thing is that the content, like a grape left on the vine through a frost, is only getting sweeter. We have plenty of cruft from all different angles pouring in so sit back, grab a mug and enjoy the ride!
On a nice cool Wednesday Night I sat down to write a bit of a blog post, move some stories around, i have over an hour and a half till showtime so i put my feet up. I then wake up over an hour and a half AFTER the scheduled time… A quick check online and a suggestion from Norbert and i head off to bed to try again on the morrow…
By the By episode 430 must have been so nice I named it twice. the whole recording of this show I referred to 431 as 430, but it isn’t its really 431, stay with me here. Terribly Sorry about that.
This is that morrow, and the show has only grown since then. More Stories some apologies and more awesome. Sit down, perk up and grab a mug of your favorite roast. We’re going full steam, a bit of froth maybe a dash of cinnamon. I’m planning on a great show lets see how it ends up together.
We’re Talking about Star Wars Coffee, Beer, Legos, Tetris, Politics, Physics, Wine, and the wide open sea.
I Love the Toad Sweat stuff, can’t get enough of it, don’t know it till you try it!
Many Thanks for listening, Stay Caffeinated!
The CaffiNation is now available on the TechPodcast Channel on Boxee, and the Roku! Man that spiffy new logo looks pretty nice sitting up there on the TV. Check it out and let us know what you think!
We discuss a good range of topics from Cupcake and beer cannons, to coffee personalities, Puns, Religion, Video and some show news. All in all a tight knit ball of information i hope to unravel into your ears.
All craics aside, today’s show is full of crazy awesome tech. goofs aside you’re going to learn about Zelda triforce Rugs, amazing beer steins, Mario in art. In short a few of my favorite things.
Despite a rough week caffination 403 goes through the introduction of the iPad, geeks teaching spelling, never-ending ink, Pacman, and star wars. All in a days work. Not to mention the Coffee, Espresso, beer, and knitting to round out the other half of the show
For the next week i’ll be mostly offline, there should be a good deal of awesomeness built up in the archives and new shows dropping while I’m out to saite your thirst for Caffeinated goodness and Techy sweet treats. I’ll also be hosting the TPNW Show for the TechPodcast Network airing on Monday. So Its been a busy week of recording. I’m getting tired of my own voice again.
This time on TPNW I’ll be doing a short informative session on Podcasting Setups and Coffee Basics. Nice short and to the point.
The CaffiNation is also very proud to take part in the Summer of Podcasts Contest Make sure you check in on August 10th to see the winners!
