Caffeine Metabolism: A great article going over the pathway Caffeine takes to get into your system and how it effects you once it does. I was originally pulled in by the spiffy image but the  rest of the article is very worth your time if you are in any way interested in how caffeine changes you.

Caffeine begins to effect you in as little as ten minutes and by the time the next hour rolls around your body has already metabolized over 99% of the chemical. Think of it this way Caffeine is a plant toxin,  it just happens to have a very pleasant side effect of waking you up while your body attempts to get rid of it.

It’s not the number it’s the people

So here we are, 400 episodes later, and 4 years after I started doing this show twice a week. I was trying to plan something for the show but it was not meant to be. I still enjoy doing the show, and more than that I enjoy the interaction with the people who stop by and hopefully enjoy the show. I enjoin you to be with us going forward for 401 and beyond. Tonight’s show isn’t really anything but a big round number, and a bit of the standard awesome that the Caffination has come to represent. Hopefully you feel the same way that I do about the show.

Apologies ahead of time for the quality of my voice today

I’m very stuffed up. Didn’t think it showed as much as it did. After editing the show it sounds pretty funny if i do say so myself. think clothespin on the nose.

So the caper went down like this the wife baked cookies today, not just any cookies but chocolate chip cookies, thus starts the descent into madness around the holidays. I’ve been working on the lair most of the weekend including a goodly time today, so a stolen cookie is my reward. They may be being saved for a family function later on this week, but they tasted sooo good.

By the by… stolen cookies topped with uncooked cookie dough is a lesson in love… right there on your tongue, it dances. But you came to learn about tech and all other manner of fun things. I have a snippet of tech a little bit of deals and a couple morsels of caffeinated hijinks to saite you for the week.  This episode is dubbed the sneaking cookies, because that act of theft powered the show into the wee hours of the morning.

Things have been better in the CaffiNation Lair, lots of stuff happening on the personal end, but nothing stops the news. We have a ton of great content literally busting at the seems for this show. I had to actually cut 4 recorded segments out of the show to get it down to 35 minutes. I find anything longer and we seem to loose people.

This episode is called the winding road because i feel that throughout the episode we traveled a great deal across the geek culture landscape from lego lights to celestial bodies, we hit all the high points of the net neutrality cat fight between google and the large carriers as well as touch on some of the great bits of minutia to surface of late. So the chaos that is the start of the semester is slowly working its was clear as it always does. I’ve been able to focus on writing more than in the past couple of months and as a result you get a new recipe that I’ve been enjoying these past couple weeks as well as a host of off the wall content as per usual. The Food and the Caffeinated bits is particularly off its hinges tonight.

This show is the second time shifted episode I’m trying out. I need more feedback on what you think of putting the show out on Monday and Thursday afternoons.  Do you like the change, should I shift it to Sunday and Wednesday Afternoon or put it back the old way?

So I sit here looking for a bit more energy this being the first week back to work and a heavy workload to boot. I honestly should be asleep planning lab implementation strategies or something but I wanted to bring this episode to you fine listeners out there.

Today’s show is all about nonsense, as you can tell from the title, meaning there is simply no rhyme reason or discernible pattern in the way this thing is laid out. usually some pattern emerges from the static, today we had a jumble of awesome news that never quite got off the ground as a cohesive unit. I still think the show holds up quite well as a whole But I’ll let you decide on the rest.

As Wonka said in the movie, “A Little Nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest Men” The serious stories would not strike the nerves without the flying toaster to offset them, the wondrous advances in science would be nowhere without the obligatory Roomba post to showcase the absurdity of it all. There have been quite a few CaffiNation Nonsense editions, and probably a bunch more could easily have fit in that very same vein. But enjoy the absurd and relish the strange.

Not only is today the day that just wouldn’t end but this sickness has me gripped up and is looking for lunch money. For the 3rd show in a row i am forced to apologize up front on how i sound, because if you heard how I sound inside my own head you’d understand.

But with all that aside this week has proven to be quite fertile grounds for news and cruft in general. We  cover some of the more heady topics floating about on the internet, discuss the Challenger disaster and  give a quick review of the coffee media stories from the past year. We also get into some of the ways Google is changing their services and offering new features.
