No Work and All Play makes Paul a Tired Guy
So the dual shot of approximately 45 inches of snow since the last broadcast has both drained my energy reserves from shoveling it and charged my batteries. The past couple of winters in good old Philadelphia have been lackluster warm and rainy events. I love snow and i love the cold so i’v been in a very tired heaven this year. This is also not the officially snowiest winter in Philadelphia history with over 60 inches of snowfall since December. Wow!
I played around with some new crufted together camera gear for a dog cam, linked on ustream, and played with some other settings on ustream to spice up the show. Norbert and I even tried to work on a cohosting thing yesterday to no avail. it will all work out in the end no worries.
Tonights bit of snowy awesomeness covers robots, design principles, retro game cakes and coffee best practices, and new wave building materials.

Today’s Show: Joy, Lego, Mario, Carbon Fibre, Carbon Footprint, Gold, Green Tech, Gardens, Helicopters, Pools, Peeps, LEDs, Linux, Pacman, Japan
Before I get down into the show I wanted to again mention how happy I am for my good friends Jimmy and Cathy. As they start their life together I wish them nothing but the best the world has to offer, but know that they already found that in each other.
Their cake topper, Guess who sends me 60% of the Lego Stories
Today’s show is all about things that make me happy, not really a few of my favorite things but definitely a stream of consciousness show pulled together from stories which struck my fancy, and intrigued me to know more. Sometimes its simply a headline, other times the whole concept spoke to me on some level. I really enjoy putting shows together like this so hopefully that comes through in the final take.
So I ask you to come with me on this fun little adventure as we stroll through he gardens of tech jokes and the glades of caffeinated dreams. A bit flowery of a description but hey its springtime.

I hope everyone is having a great season so far, the hectic days are starting to catch up with our household here. The CaffiNation Lair has lain dark and mostly unoccupied as we visit the four corners of the city. Things are beginning to calm down once more but there is always the next big challenge on the horizon. I have compiled a list of fun stories which may or may not make sense to0 anyone other than myself. Thanks so much for your patience trust me if this had been done yesterday it would have been ugly.
An interesting little discussion at the end concerning Names, please stick around for it. And Thank you for any comments you send our way.
Enjoy the Episode!

I Don’t even know where to begin! I was 13 the last time the Phillies Made It! I’d like to let a huge apology ut to my followers on Twitter, If you’re not a sports fa this might have been a bad week for you. I think i’ve been averaging about 40 – 50 tweets per game. Twitter is an unbelievable tool to let fans interact and share something as special as this has been. Listen up for more.
A Lot of serious topics flying around the tubes, The CaffiNation provides a little levity and a little knowledge.

Another Earth Day rolls around on the calendar to find that being green is getting easier. Adoption of CFL’s as alternatives to Edisonian Incandescents are taking off. Al Gore has throw down with a new presentation that is getting some notice. And very worth your time to watch. I’ve talked about it before but sometimes things are more than buzzwords. Green carries so much more weight than just its pigment nowadays, and its making it easier and cheaper to do things the right way. Recycling is just the start we need to move beyond blue buckets at the curb and into the houses themselves.

Money is green, and frankly so is everything else lately. But money is also king, if it costs too much then green is bad, and just won’t work. If it being green causes people with lots of money to loose some of it or make less of it then green is still bad and will get crushed. However green, lately, is saving consumers lots of Money. And the court of public opinion has decreed that green is good. So like a casino giving out a gambling hotline number, Big business wants you to be green, through clenched teeth.
In case you hadn’t guessed Green is the new buzzword for everything from clothing to furniture of late. Green living, green cars, green tech. But what does it mean? Does it mean on one hand reducing conspicuous consumption of goods and tech leaving behind a wakes of debris in your path? Does it mean reducing the oft mentioned footprint that each one of us has? Or is it something about recycle buckets, carbon, and hippies? Quite frankly it could be all of them but don’t let buzzwords and stereotypes lead you to believe that this will all wash over, and that none of it really means anything.
