What do you do with a gameboy that hasn’t been used in quite some time. You make a zombie, that’s what you do. And that is exactly what artist Donald Kennedy, an artist over at KodyKoala, did with his old gameboy. Other than the gameboy, he also used hands from a Iron Man Monger figure and feet from an Iron Man Mark I figure.

How would you react if you saw a co-worker walk into work in an armor suit? Wang Kang, a telecom worker in Shanghai, was able to experience just that. He was able to construct the first Iron Man suit, also known as the MK1. After 3 months, and spending $450,  Mr. Kang completed the suit. It is made out of EVA foam, which is glued onto an aluminum. He then used soldering iron to give the rough iron plate effect. He completed the suit by adding pipes and circuits.

When he arrived at work, some people were stunned, while others were terrified. Wang even claimed to have some women fall in love with him. He went on to say: “They said I am a happy and creative man, and they wanted to know me.” He was inspired by the 2008 movie, “Iron Man.”

At this point in time, the suit weighs aproximatly 50kg, or 110lbs, and takes about 10 minutes to gear up. However, Wang hopes to imrove the design so that it is lighter and easier to put on. He also wants the experience so he can make the MK 2 as well. Tony Stark would be proud.

Tigerpause444, the designer of these helmets took children’s toys, sliced them up a bit glued drilled and shimmied the parts into place around real motorcycle helmets. And the finished product looks mighty cool. I’ll give you massive design points for putting together something so close to being accurate with only children’s toys as your basis for the designs.

My son has one of the Iron Man helmets. it barely fits my head, the scale is all wrong, and the viewing angle is horrible. the Master Chief one seems to be a bit more feasible of a creation. I like the ingenuity of these pieces but as the article warns any modification to a motorcycle helmet is against DOT regulations, and can actually result in a fine or death if you happen to be in a crash.

Me? If I drove a motorcycle? I’d keep the kids toys at home to admire and fool around with at my leisure. And I’d wear something to protect my dome on the road. Some things you just don’t mess with.
