I’ve been slightly askew in my reading of late, so the resulting show you get is a bit more geeky and more design based than normal. I hope you enjoy these different takes on things. I also showcase a new video i made called Learning from Stupid, its exactly what it sounds like…

I make mistakes and you get to listen, laugh and hopefully learn a bit.I’ve been thinking about different ways to make the show more engaging and hopefully some of them will come to fruition in the short term. The first video is up in this episode, expect more to come after that, different things, some coffee tech, some lectures and talks i’ve done. I have a lot of things that need to be edited, i just have to make the time to do it now.Who doesn’t like free stuff? Hows about free awesome stuff?

I have been put through the wringer the past week, my sleep and caffeine schedules are on opposite waves. So I’m trying to break the cycle and bring the noise and the funk back to you. there are a couple of tangential stories woven into the podcast but for once i took control of myself and reigned them in forbefore they blew the time out of the water.

This episode is what happens when you are stuck writing, producing and otherwise cramming content for this long. I love what  do and I can only hope the episodes have been worth the fun. I’m starting to hone my workflow even more and I might just do a Making of The CaffiNation shortly. Let me know what anyone thinks of that. Might be another live show in the works too. Testing the waters. Speaking of waters I have been inundated with questions about how to make better coffee, what type of machine to buy ect. On today’s show i have a couple different tips for these questions, and I’ll be adding my own thoughts in as we go through them. I might also try my hand at writing a bit of a how to guide in the future, but not sure about it yet. A Long show with a ton of content and a bit of gab in between.

This episode is a product of the November let down. With all of the stuff and build upon at the beginning of the month and the end of last things are finally settling into the familiar fall pace. So I go an throw that for a wack by trying the Novel Writing, my hands hurt, my brain is fried and I’ve never felt more on point. Exercise for the mind is truely helping everything but my spelling, which is still quite horrid. This episode gives you a sampling of the best in all of our usualy neighborhoods of content. I had a teacher in Middle school Mrs Harper, who tasked me with finding a quiet way to work out my nervous energy when working on a project. “Find or make a ‘fidget‘ ” she said. It has to be small, light, and silent. Now I just use whatever debris is handy. I have her to thank for the best productivity tip I ever received. Do you have a fidget?

I need to have busy hands. When I’m working on a problem or waiting to get something done I make things, i doodle, i draw constantly, not well mind you. The larger the product the more raw materials from the office landscape i seem to use. If I ever work on a huge project i might disassemble something important. For especially big projects keeping my hands busy is just enough of a distraction to clear my head and allow my mind to move forward. Think Lucky Bat from a Few Good Men.

For those of you not intimately familiar with the concept I see it as a way for the Techy’s, the geek’s, and the nerds to try to help other people around us understand and accept technology more readily and feel more comfortable with it. The long and the short of this holiday are that I want all of those able minded Tech’s out there to set aside one day to work with someone less technologically fortunate than yourself and teach them a skill they will be able to use technology to its fullest. Keyboard shortcuts, smoother work flow, install firefox and walk them through it. Anything is fair game.

Give me your tired, your frustrated, your unsure users yearning to click freely. The elder statesmen of your family group. Send these, the grandparents, the parents, the anger challenged, the hunt and pecks. I share my experiences with them and lead them to the golden shore of understanding.
