You heard correctly. This is a robot shaped like a beer can. usually when inaimate objects start doing things, you know like walking around… I would suggest you stop drinking. Think about the implications 1 Can bot in a case could singlhandedly stop a whole frat party if its quick enough.

Yo Bro! Catch that Beer! This is a spiffy little project from Ron Tajima, Man i love me some wiimote hacking.

Once more its that time of the year. Easter is upon us again, Clucking bunnies and vinegar baths for eggs await. But what if you could outsource your egg dyeing, your family art time. What if a robot could do it for you?

Enter the Egg Bot! This is a rotational version of the old pen plotters. I for one welcome our egg decorating overlords. While the Egg bot will decorate anything that can rotate at 197.00 for the base model its a good site more expensive than Vinegar and food coloring. However if i ever had the chance to review it I would love to give it a Spin!

If movies have taught me anything robots are awesome and in order to make a point in a rap battle you need to have a good and iconic grip on your mic, possibly drop it at the end of a slamming statement.

Imagine my syurprise when both of these unrelated pieces of mental detritus were cobbled together to give us this pieces of heavy metal awesomeness.

In a commisioned piece Three Days Grace leads singer Adam Gontier asked Chris Conte to create for him a mic stand with a robotic arm. The fun thing about this is that the stand you see is actually the second version the first was a right arm and hand, and the singer asked for a left to be created instead…

So the first was canalized and cobbled into the second iteration. The second version was actually created in triplicate to give the band one for the road one for home and i guess one for a rainy day… Silly rock stars, but awesome taste

Today’s Show:  Lego, Design, Color Theory, Adopt a Newb Day, Jobs, robots, photoshop, Mario, nesting dolls, energy drinks, sugar

Tonight’s show is shortened because I’m pretty sure everyone was outside enjoying the weekend. At least were the CaffiNation makes its lair, in Sunny Philadelphia. The family unplugged as a whole and took the city by storm, so everyone here is just plain plumb tuckered out. Tonight’s show takes only the best content and the funniest links from my travels the past couple of days online.

Consider this a small sampling of the awesomeness available. But we do have a ton of great little design tips and applications. We are taking this opportunity to announce Adopt a Newb Day 2009, a day dedicated to the idea of giving a little tech love to those less all knowing than you.  More to come in the next couple of days about this holiday and as always check back for some interesting articles on tap this week as well.

As always Enjoy the show and Stay Caffeinated!

Today’s Show:  Lego, Productivity Applications, OS, Ski, Space invaders, Retro Gaming, Erector Sets, Chemistry, Star Wars, Compost, Coffee, Gingerbread, Caffeine, Beer, Robots

Today’s show is all about nonsense, as you can tell from the title, meaning there is simply no rhyme reason or discernible pattern in the way this thing is laid out. usually some pattern emerges from the static, today we had a jumble of awesome news that never quite got off the ground as a cohesive unit. I still think the show holds up quite well as a whole But I’ll let you decide on the rest.

As Wonka said in the movie, “A Little Nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest Men” The serious stories would not strike the nerves without the flying toaster to offset them, the wondrous advances in science would be nowhere without the obligatory Roomba post to showcase the absurdity of it all. There have been quite a few CaffiNation Nonsense editions, and probably a bunch more could easily have fit in that very same vein. But enjoy the absurd and relish the strange.

As always Enjoy the show and Stay Caffeinated!
