The weather has taken a turn for the awesome and I’m starting to feel much better so Its time for the yearly dedicated show to outdoor geekery and good manly grilling, errr… Alright so i never announced it before but each year I usually throw a show out there with a preponderance of grilling and outdoorsy type news into the mix, so this would be that Show.
I am however still in a heavy mental fog, i can’t rationalize what i want to do with what I can do at this point. Which is why the episode is some hours late and more than a bit disjointed. After taking some time off to start the recovery process we’re back in the saddle with a ton of fun stories gleaned from over the past week of waiting. Surgery went well, nothing but good news, now all that is left is to heal from the process. It seems that no one can get a break around CaffiNation HQ, I’d like to thank everyone who sent well wishes over the various pieces of social media. Last Friday I came down with the same bug that was working its way through our house, and no it wasn’t swine flu. So you’ll excuse me if this show is a bit more brief. Between worn out windpipes and a tattered immune system I’m not sure what I’ll be called on to fend off when the Little man comes back home from daycare or I enter work once more.
The news has been fertile these past few days. Some of the news is sensationalistic, other bits are salacious. Well stick to the facts and give you al the details about the serious problems, and the lighter side of the net as well.

Tonight’s episode was almost labeled The Wasteful because of the huge number of leftovers after this show was created. I simply could not cram any more awesome into the time slotted. While the podcast could theoretically go on forever we had to draw the line somewhere, and that line was here.
Instead I decided to break it down into the two most represented categories R and R is Retro and Robots, a metric ton of awesome in each subcat. Caffeinated all the way in today’s show we speak of coffee as fuel for your car, fuel for your mind, and robots which tend gardens. We discuss the finery of Pacman, the majesty of Zork and the horror of modern advertising which is so cool you can’t avert your eyes.
This Episode also could have been called the Birthday Super Throwdown Edition.

Considering how clumsy I used to be I guess its a miracle that i have gone this long without any serious incidents. I hurt myself in work today doing something very inane, but when you have a condition like mine, normal is a relative term. So please excuse the lack of my normal prose filled intro and beautifully constructed reviews. With one hand in a cast bent at an odd angle typing this was a feat in and of itself.

This show was recorded while i had a fever so i would like to say that i’m not responsible for anything that was said in my delusional state, but we all know that’s bunk. This time of the year my sleeping habits always catch up to me. Staying home with the boy was rewarding and exhausting but also put me here. Back to a sense of normalcy around here, so naturally some changes are brewing. For NaNoWriMo, national novel writing month, I’m going to be releasing a new podcast as a form of first draft audio book. We’ll see how it goes. Looking for feedback on it and the first chapter should go live this week. In other news I have been working on a new logo for the CaffiNation Podcast and i think we have a winner, as it should be the album art for today’s show, and most shows going forward. Not changing the site too much yet but i’m looking for feedback here as well.
