Almost as ubiquitous as the What are you doing? from twitter, which recently changed into What’s Happening?. Facebook asks you what you are currently thinking, and hopes that your friends actually care. I care, I just want to see a bit more of the overall picture.
I’ve been doing quite a bit of sketching recently and I thought i’d share the fun. Think you suck as an artist try doing it more frequently and you’ll get better. What’s on MY mind? take a look.
And I challenge you to do the same. Here is a PDF called woym, of the head outline with the what’s on YOUR mind left there to remind you of your mission. Sketch write, doodle, type, whatever upload them somewhere and link back, tag everything WOYM, What’s On Your Mind.
I’d like to SEE what other people are thinking. Think of it as show and tell for your nervous fingers.

Out of energy, Odd Weekend, and So much more to tell
All things considered this should be a Mea Culpa edition of the Podcast. Its probably going to run short because i can’t talk too long, but i did this to myself, well Bud Selig, and My internal body clock conspired against me.
Beyond the lingering affects, or foreshadow, I can’t decide which. We culled the topics down to a more manageable level. I’ll try to talk a bit more on some of the fun that comes across the desk but the next show is going to be chock full of rapid fired content.

Some days you just can’t do it. you can’t pull your scattered thoughts into a seemingly sensible format for a talk show. Today is one of those days but I have an excuse, you see my coffee pot broke this morning… Now don’t start wailing and nashing your teeth yet i have plenty of coffee creation methods at hand but my recent love of the Press Pot coffee had me in a very foul humor after the glass broke.
So that nonsense aside and a wonderful weekend with the family behind me i turn now to the task at hand giving you some semblance of an episode to entertain you on your travels about thew front half of the week. An Existential masterpiece of an episode from a producer who just doesn’t feel all there right now.
A belated congrats to Jeffery Powers of the Geekazine Podcast for hitting show number 100 this past week! Keep up the good work!
Enjoy the show and Stay Caffeinated!

Today’s Show: Weather, Lego, Silly Putty, Coffee, Kindle 2, Retro, Steampunk, Geneva Convention, Yerba Mate, Popcorn, Weddings, and Cancer
This show has some absolutely great content from pressing issues on the Internet as a whole to some fun new designs working on old problems. One thing that always gets me is when people put enough effort into a product or a design and just miss the finishing touches, the small bits of finish that really set aside a good piece from a great piece, unfortunately we have a couple of those examples as well.
Over all this is a strong show with content from a wide variety of topics and sources and I hope that the Title and the content on the episode really explore the duality of living online. You are both virtual and real at the same point as some of the stories I found are old and new, polar opposites in one combination or just a perfect match. The entire day around the Caffination Lair has felt like it was waiting for something exciting and something fun, I’d like to welcome you to that exciting and Fun event right now.
As always Enjoy the show and Stay Caffeinated!

Today’s Show: TOS, facebook, PirateBay, Privacy, Passwords, legos, pixels, king kong, salt and pepper, tea, and coffee
Well I have a full complement of hands once more. typing is a joy, well at least for now. Still working the kinks out of the systems but it feels good to be able to put ideas to paper once more. I can’t wait to share the ideas I’ve been kicking around for the last month. We have a ton of new content on deck i just need to flesh it out and give it life so to speak. The Robot Overlord Appeasement poster is going to rock, the Tech in Tough times articles are shaping up as well. But thats all in the future, today’s show has a host of great links to lego goodness, some fun kerfuffle concerning TOS and the facebook flack, and a ton more content covering all the stuff listed above and more.
I would like to say that even though the Facebook story takes up a good deal of physical space on the post it does not in fact use anywhere near that amount of time in the show. I just wanted to make sure i was able to share all of the great content that was pushed out in reference. While the story is old, lessons can still be learned from the issues it raised.
Enjoy the show and Stay Caffeinated ~!

I had a teacher in Middle school Mrs Harper, who tasked me with finding a quiet way to work out my nervous energy when working on a project. “Find or make a ‘fidget‘ ” she said. It has to be small, light, and silent. Now I just use whatever debris is handy. I have her to thank for the best productivity tip I ever received. Do you have a fidget?
I need to have busy hands. When I’m working on a problem or waiting to get something done I make things, i doodle, i draw constantly, not well mind you. The larger the product the more raw materials from the office landscape i seem to use. If I ever work on a huge project i might disassemble something important. For especially big projects keeping my hands busy is just enough of a distraction to clear my head and allow my mind to move forward. Think Lucky Bat from a Few Good Men.

In the spirit of the Adopt a Newb Day 2008 celebration which is fast approaching I wanted to answer a frequent question I get asked . And I might ask the same of you. What do you get out of Social Media, and Social Networking sites, and how can they help my (insert podcast, blog, dairy farm)? It is a very valid question for the amount of time I spend on twitter, checking myspace, facebook and anything else where you can friend someone? It is a very valid question, and surprisingly it doesn’t have a simple answer. This article also sprung from a recent article by Chris Penn concerning the value of social networks when compared to choosing a school based on its name.

Consider this a Public service announcement, and a thread starter.
You all should know these things but sometimes they are better off written, read aloud, and repeated. I’ve codified three basic rules you should follow when posting online, if you value a harmonious existence. And despite what you may think not all people do. It takes courage to be divisive, to polarize or to pick a side. And more often than not standing by those guns will win you both favor with some and loose the respect of others. Some people can not take advice nor information from people who think differently than they do. All that being said, if you are online for the fun, if your a student using Facebook for a hoot or a mild mannered accountant just looking to reach out this article is for you.
