First things first, Thank you for 5.5 years of podcasting, the comments and feedback, the few detractors and the tons of downloads. I have some fun stats to share on the show, The CaffiNation has been growing steadily and is only going to get better from here. And I have each one of you to thank, each person who downloaded the show even once, who participated in the contests, the fun, the hijinks, an the caffeine.
Tonight was the first show in years I have been nervous about doing. And that is a good thing. We might change a couple of things going forward, and keep a couple of other things. Video is here to stay, maybe not always in live episodes, but we will be back in video you can be assured. 500 episodes… and a gentle goodbye to long running server. Orion is decommed!

Talk about your old world simplicity. The Cryptex Flash Drive. This lock designed in AutoCAD and cut out of solid brass encases a USB drive. a simple physical lock to prevent and unauthorized USB action going on. Great idea. but honestly folks once someone has physical access to a piece of tech it’s only how bad they want the data that keeps them from getting it… Now maybe if this bad boy had a pocket watch chain to go along with it…

The gentleman who designed and actually made this is russian so the explanation is subject to translation errors but still it look beautiful!

There was a time owning a piece of steampunk goodness meant that your or your friends had to have talent and tools at hand. Now thanks to Richard Nagy, the Datamancer if you have Money instead that will work just fine too. The Datamancer is selling custom steampunk machines for $5,500 dollars a clip, which is a discount on the price of future runs of the product. Nagy expects the price to end up being around $7,500. Which while it is a lot of money for a latop, considering the skill craftsmanship and time it takes to get a dell to be a delight it isn’t hard to imagine the labour being on the pricey side.

If i had disposable money these would definitely tempt me. Especially considering each model comes with a Key Shaped Steampunk USB drive, it would be like your very own steampunk Voltron! If this is your thing be sure to check out the Laptop Preorder section of Nagy’s Site!

Bringing the funk, with a side order of noise!
Towels from Heaven, laughs from the heart
Thanks to everyone who has been stopping by and contributing to the show. We are working to make it easier to submit your story ideas, found links and other awesome bits to the show. Anything else you think we need to work on? What to Expect for today’s show. Lots of art and nostalgia, some nostalgic art, and some crazy and zany jokes. I love April fools day unfortunately gathering stuff for a news site such as this becomes treacherous AFTER the holiday has run its course.

Finding Fun and Telling Tales
Tonight’s show is a fun mix of Content collect this past week. I actually like doing the show a bit more this way. I gotta say i felt a bit stagnant in how things were going it’s nice to bring in some fresh content and a new person to share with writing. Steve has been great. I hope you’re enjoying his articles. We cover ground from Pop culture interpretations of Video game Art (Angry Birdsky / a la warhol) to Modern looks at the early days of Exploration. history comes alive in color pictures from Shakelton’s 1915 assault on the south pole, Alas no scotch in that story.
We are also working on some fun new stories for the coming days, more reviews, more zombies, more sketching more Lord of the rings. Don’t just stay for the show, but bookmark us and ass us to your reader for later too!
We’re constantly looking for awesome and fun content so make sure to contact us if you find a story or would like to contribute!

Truckload of stories, boatload of fun
Been a long time coming, but episode 473 is here, well at least if you’re reading this then you are probably listening as well. The past two weeks have been big for the site, hopefully you’ve been checking back to the site to see some of the crazy stories and content we are throwing down. Tonight’s show is going to be a rundown a collection of the awesome, a highlight reel of the fun things we have covered over the past two weeks with the usual commentary, and a few extra’s thrown in.
Kitchen sink probably would have been a good name for this show because there has been so much new stuff showing up on the site I haven’t been able to keep track of everything. If you love the podcast do yourself a favor and click on the podcast only feed for use in itunes, zune or what ever podcatcher you use, and the Podcast only homepage is accessible from the garish colored button on the top right hand side of the homepage.
Going forward we’re going to try to keep up this torrid pace of finding and publishing content, and the podcast is going to rewind some of the fan favorites from the past week, we will still be covering off kilter topics and Steve will be publishing Video Game reviews and commentary as well. I’m hoping you are enjoying the direction that the site is heading. So this show is running at about 90% of the links being back to our own stories, which is awesome.
Steve brought a great energy to the show and I can’t wait to have him back. Let me know what you thought of tonight’s episode!

I sifted through the tattered remains of my week to find bits of awesome content. Hopefully you enjoy steampunk, science fiction movies, coffee, t shirts and geekery as much as I do. But then again you ARE listening to the only place that has all of the above with any type of regularity! Enjoy the show.

About Tonight’s show, I found some truly awesome things from inventions which could literally change the world as we know it. To Flamethrower trombones… I reviewed a pretty awesome book, we run down the news of the day and I go off on a bit of a rant about the state of coffee blogging. Somehow the website is inching back towards productivity and I’m feeling better about the shows we are doing, I hope you are enjoying them too!

Tonight’s show we talk about Star Wars, again! propaganda again! and steampunk AGAIN! The topics are staying the same but the content just keeps flowing. The good thing is that the content, like a grape left on the vine through a frost, is only getting sweeter. We have plenty of cruft from all different angles pouring in so sit back, grab a mug and enjoy the ride!
